Watch: RV Structural Repair Process

RV Structural Damage Is Not Like Car Repair. We Know the Difference.

RV walls are engineered differently than anything else on the road. Your motorhome or travel trailer has a sandwich construction: an outer fiberglass shell, foam core insulation, wood framing, and an inner wall. When one of these layers fails, the whole structure is at risk. Body filler, sealant tape, and temporary patches don’t work.

Most collision shops and general repair facilities treat RVs like cars. They can’t. They lack the marine-grade materials, the understanding of laminated wall systems, and the controlled environment needed for proper resin curing. By the time moisture gets behind a patch, rot spreads through the foam and framing. The damage grows. Other shops turn away the hard cases. We solve them.

Structural damage isn’t cosmetic. A cracked laminate wall isn’t just ugly — it’s an invitation for water damage, rot, and catastrophic failure. Ignoring it will cost you thousands more down the road.

Fiberglass Worx specializes in structural fiberglass repair — the work that most other shops refuse. We rebuild from the substrate out using marine-grade fiberglass mat, premium resin, and proprietary bonding compounds tested and refined over years. We work in a dedicated indoor facility with temperature and humidity controls. Our team brings over 20 years of combined fiberglass experience.

How It Works

How RV Structural Fiberglass Repair Works at Fiberglass Worx

Every structural repair follows our proven 5-step process in our dedicated indoor facility.

1

Free Verbal Estimate

Call us at (303) 585-0515 to schedule a free in-person assessment. Bring your RV to our yard and we’ll evaluate the damage on-site. If you can’t make it to us, we’ll arrange to come to your RV whenever possible. No obligation, no paperwork required.

2

Damage Assessment & Teardown

You bring your RV to our facility in Commerce City. We inspect the damage thoroughly — not just the visible part. We check for moisture, rot, foam degradation, and framing issues. Then we carefully remove the damaged section: fiberglass, foam, wood — whatever needs to go.

3

Substrate Preparation

The foundation matters. We clean and prepare the remaining substrate. We check for hidden damage, treat any wood rot with appropriate sealant, and ensure the repair area is ready to accept new fiberglass. Rushing this step leads to weak repairs. We don’t rush.

4

Structural Rebuild

We apply marine-grade fiberglass mat saturated with premium resin. We layer multiple times, building structural strength. We use our proprietary bonding compounds to ensure every layer bonds perfectly to the substrate and to each layer above it. We work in our climate-controlled facility so the resin cures properly. This creates a repair stronger than the original construction.

5

Surface Finishing & Quality Check

Once the structural repair is cured, we sand, finish, and prepare the surface. We check for voids, weak spots, and any areas that need additional work. Then we let you inspect it before we release your RV. Quality matters — we prove it with 200+ five-star reviews.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about RV structural fiberglass repair at Fiberglass Worx.

How much does RV structural repair cost?

Structural repair costs depend on the size and severity of damage. Small holes might run $500 to $1,500. Large structural sections can cost $3,000 to $8,000 or more. Call us at (303) 585-0515 with photos and a damage description, and we’ll give you a ballpark estimate. We confirm the final cost after we assess the damage in person.

How long does structural repair take?

Most structural repairs are completed in 4–6 weeks. Timeline depends on damage severity and current workload. We’ll give you a realistic estimate during your initial call. Dealerships typically take 4–8 months. We’re faster without sacrificing quality.

Do you repair delamination?

No. Delamination is the separation of fiberglass layers without visible damage or openings. Repairing delamination would require removing and rebuilding most of the wall or panel, which is expensive and often not practical. The root cause — usually moisture — would still be present. We focus on structural damage like holes, cracks, wall flex, and framing issues where we can provide a complete, lasting repair.

Do you work on motorhomes and travel trailers?

Yes. We repair structural damage on all RV types — Class A, B, C motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, toy haulers, and more. RV construction is similar across types. Structural damage is structural damage.

Will my repair be stronger than the original?

Yes. We use marine-grade fiberglass materials and proprietary bonding compounds. We rebuild in a controlled environment. The repair is often stronger than the original factory laminate. Our customers have taken repaired RVs across the country and back without issues.

Can you match the color and finish?

We focus on structural integrity and durability. For cosmetic finishing — paint, decals, graphics — we recommend getting quotes from RV paint specialists after we complete the structural repair. We provide a smooth, properly prepared surface ready for finishing.

Do you do custom fiberglass work besides repair?

Our specialty is repair. We handle structural damage, holes, cracks, and panel rebuilds. For custom fabrication, aftermarket modifications, and specialty builds, we recommend connecting with fiberglass shops that specialize in those areas.
