Colorado Hail Doesn't Have to Mean Replacement

Your truck topper took a beating. Hail stones the size of golf balls left dents and cracks all over the fiberglass cap. You got quotes to replace it, and they all hurt. $2,000 to $5,000 just to get a new one installed. You're thinking about swallowing the cost, but you don't have to.

When other companies say no, we say yes. Your topper can be repaired. We specialize in truck toppers, camper shells, and fiberglass canopies that other shops won't touch. We fix hail damage, impact cracks, stress fractures, and the age-related damage that comes from years of Colorado sun and weather. We bring over 20 years of combined fiberglass experience and a dedicated indoor facility with marine-grade materials and proprietary bonding compounds. Your topper will be repaired to be stronger than it was new. Replacement costs thousands more. A quality repair means your topper goes back on your truck, works just like it did before, and costs a fraction of the price. Insurance often covers hail and collision damage — we coordinate directly with adjusters so you don't have to manage the paperwork yourself.

How It Works

How Truck Topper Repair Works at Fiberglass Worx

Every topper repair follows our proven 6-step process in our dedicated indoor facility.

1

Free In-Person Assessment*

Bring your truck in or send detailed photos and damage description. We inspect the topper carefully to determine the extent of damage. Is it cosmetic? Is it structural? Are there multiple impact zones? We give you a realistic assessment of repair versus replacement. If it's repairable, we tell you so. If there's hidden damage, we find it now, not later.

2

Insurance Coordination

If you're working with insurance, we handle the process. We document damage with professional photos and measurements. We submit everything to your adjuster, answer their questions, and work within your coverage limits and deductible. You don't chase down phone calls. We do that.

3

Surface Prep and Damage Removal

We carefully remove damaged fiberglass down to sound material. For hail damage, that means identifying each impact zone and removing cracked or delaminated sections. For cracks and stress fractures, we expose the full extent of the damage so we can rebuild it properly. Prep work takes time, but it's the foundation of a repair that lasts.

4

Structural Rebuild

Using marine-grade fiberglass mat and resin with our proprietary bonding compounds, we rebuild the damaged sections. We rebuild stronger than factory spec. If the hail dent was minor and cosmetic, we focus on appearance. If the impact cracked the structure, we focus on integrity. Both matter, and we handle both.

5

Gelcoat and Color Match

Once the structural work cures, we apply gelcoat and match your truck's paint as closely as possible. We sand and finish the repair so it blends seamlessly with the surrounding topper surface. The goal is for you to look at it and forget the damage ever happened.

6

Final Inspection and Delivery

We inspect the topper inside and out before it goes back on your truck. We walk you through what was repaired, how the materials will perform, and what to expect long-term. Your topper goes back on, and you're ready to go. Most repairs are completed in 4–6 weeks.

*Formal written quotes are charged at $175. This is discounted from the final invoice if work is performed.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about truck topper fiberglass repair at Fiberglass Worx.

Can you repair my truck topper, or does it need to be replaced?

Most toppers can be repaired. We inspect the damage to determine severity. Hail damage, cracks, and stress fractures are all repairable. If the topper is totaled or damaged beyond repair, we'll tell you that too. But most of the time, repair is the better choice.

How much does a truck topper repair cost?

Costs depend on damage severity, size of the affected area, and whether structural elements are compromised. We offer a free in-person assessment. For a formal written quote, there's a $175 assessment fee. Call us at (303) 585-0515 with photos to get started.

How long does topper repair take?

Most topper repairs take 4–6 weeks from start to finish. Simple cosmetic repairs may be faster. Complex structural work or multiple impact zones may take the full 6 weeks. We prioritize quality over speed.

Will my insurance cover truck topper repair?

Hail damage and collision damage are typically covered under your auto insurance. The specifics depend on your policy. We coordinate directly with adjusters, submit documentation, and work within your coverage limits. You handle the deductible.

What's the difference between cosmetic and structural topper damage?

Cosmetic damage is surface-level: dents, cracks in the gelcoat, minor impact marks. Structural damage compromises the topper's integrity: cracks that go through the fiberglass, delamination, or impact that affects mounting or weatherproofing. Both need repair, but structural damage requires more extensive work.

Why shouldn't I just replace my topper?

Replacement costs thousands more and takes time to order and install. A quality repair puts your topper back on your truck in 4–6 weeks for a fraction of the price. Your topper becomes stronger, not weaker. If repair isn't an option, we'll tell you. But most toppers are repairable.

Do you match the color of my truck's paint?

Yes. We work to match your truck's paint as closely as possible. We have color-matching tools and experience working with different truck manufacturers. The match is usually excellent. Professional color matching is part of every repair.

Do you repair all RV brands?

Yes. We repair Escape, Tiffin, Newmar, Grand Design, Brinkley, Luxe, Winnebago, Airstream, Thor, Keystone, Jayco, Entegra, and all other RV brands. We’re an official Escape Trailer Industries service partner, but our expertise covers the entire RV spectrum.
